6 Bolshoy Karetnyy Pereulok (side-street) Bed in a 10-person dorm: $16 (when you book through hostelworld.com) |
Godzillas HostelThis hostel, with its hypnotizing green walls, takes up all three floors of the block, save for one apartment. It's a rather nice interior, if a little expressive at times. There's graffiti on the walls, the wood on the doors has been aged a little, there's a trendy glass partition separating the two guest computers and there's a framed AK-47 in the lounge room. Godzilla did not just lend the hostel his name but also his head, which has been printed onto the staff uniforms and mugs that guests can purchase. This entrepreneurship points to the foreign origins of the owner — he' s an American. This is why guests have the privilege of free calls to the USA and Canada. Other handy things about Godzillas include free ticket bookings (from theatres to airplanes) and the hostel's own taxi. There are showers and toilets on every floor and two kitchens — a small one and a big one on different floors. Leisure wise — there's a TV, board games and books (we found a Korean-English-Spanish phrase book for one). |
