Dom

Dom feels a bit like the home of a Scandinavian girl — all light-coloured walls and IKEA furniture. You can tell that a female did the decorating: there are display plates above the kitchen table, the window sills are covered in cushions, there are pot plants on the balcony and a stack of little facewasher towels in the bathroom. This is a rare hostel located in a separate building rather than inside an ordinary apartment. Finding this one-storey 1850s building is a bit of a challenge, since it's at the far end of the yard of the Morozov estate. The rooms and bathrooms are split on a gender basis: girls and guys sleep and wash separately. In the female dorm, you can draw the curtains and thus isolate yourself from your neighbours. There are magazines and iPhone and iPod docks in the double rooms, but no desktop computer. You can negotiate to bring your pets.
